I don't remember exactly what I liked about this wine (because it was over a month ago and I was at the beach, so my mind was focused on more important things, like sand crabs and salty breezes), but I know it was tasty. For some reason I read "Chenin Blanc" on the label and bypassed the "Vouvray", so I was taken back when the first sip was a sweet one. Silly girl. Chenin Blanc can range from dry and crisp to sweet and syrupy (even sparkling), but Vouvrays are usually medium sweet to sweet. The sweetness of the wine isn't overpowering though, because ol' C-Blanc is an acidic lil guy, so it balances it out. The CB I had before this one was from South Africa, and was quite dry. Ah versatile grapes. Anyway, even if I can't remember why I liked the wine, I'm pretty sure it went well with some Old Bay laced steamed shrimp. So there.
